It's always fun to browse the web and pick and post cool HERC pics by some of the greatest artists in the field. Usually most of these drawings are of Marvel's fun loving GIFT bestower HERC...but from time to time I see a cool old Steve Reeves pic or even a Big Louie. But today...I share with you...HERCULES the Prince of POWER!!! Cheers!!!

Stuff from around....In one MIGHTY post!

Hercules vs Jercules from the Disney version of the mythical strongman. Erik Larsen's Herakles from SAVAGE DRAGON comics....always loved Eriks work. Not really certain who this is by...it could be MItch Breitweiser judging from the broad black dry brush technique but I can't really make out that signiture. John Byrne's HERCULES from MARVEL universe A-Z....with some Kirby clips here and there for good measure.

This one never gets old....

I've been going to the same comic bbok store since 1978...that is a long time for a comic book store to be in business. There is a reason he's been in business for so long. He knows how to cut corners.

Every one of these HERC variant covers he missed me on...because he does not buy variant covers. So...I miss out. Oh I got my comics but never got my variant covers. I wonder how many other variant covers I never got because of his cost cutting. Oh well..guess I'll never know but for now...these are some of the comics I have to hunt down in order to get my variants. ;)

HERCULES gives THOR the GIFT!

Splash page from THOR 221 by John Buscema and Mike Esposito. I love the web...so much good stuff to find and share. Interesting sound effect though. I believe that may be the result of part of HERC'S fisk bashing THOR on the side of his head and clipping part of his Winged war helmet!

I love the little NO-PRIZE contest note they ran on the bottom right corner there. Marvel always had a tongue in cheak sense of humor.

HERCULES takes Manhattan!

This piece comes from Chris Ivy. The man gets around and I can safely say he's done it all for just about all the major companies. He is a talented cuss and I really love his interpretation from a certain famous MARVEL TEAM UP I covered earlier here on the blog. This I believe is a commision piece...probably originally in b/w...but I found it on the web in color. Either way GREAT JOB CHRIS!!!

Disney's Plans for Marvel...

Well if HERCULES and Jerkules are gonna have some brews and share with each other the gift of combat...I'm down with it. This is a cool piece. I'd actually like a wall size poster of the thing.
